Mona Singh signed for ‘3 Idiots’

Mona Singh (Jassi fame) is all smiles these days and why not? The girl is not only getting rave reviews about her performance with Harbhajan Singh on ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’ but has also got her big break with Raj Kumar Hirani signing her for a pivotal role in ‘3 Idiots’. Apparently, she has a track totally separate from the Aamir-Kareena one and also not featured in Chetan Bhagat’s novel.

Mona confirmed the news saying, “Ya, I am doing Raj Kumar Hirani’s film. And I couldn’t have hoped for a better birthday gift. What do I play? All I can tell you is, I don’t play one of the idiots. I play the sayaani (wise) character, ha ha.”

Talking about her long wait to get a role on the bigger screen, Mona says, “A couple of projects that were meant to happen never did. But I’m glad Raju Hirani signed me. It’s a fabulous role.”

The Singh girl is all bowled over by Harbhajan Singh and says, “In fact Bhajji was one of the first to wish me on my birthday. We’ve become very close buddies. I think it’s the Punjabi connection. He has a reputation for being hotheaded. I’ve quite a temper myself. So we’re fine with one another.” Mona has been guiding Bhajji with his dance steps. “I’ve almost become his choreographer. He completely depends on me to see me through.”

Karisma Promises to Be A Fair Judge

Karisma Kapoor ready to have Star One’s TRPs soaring… who wouldn’t tune in to watch one of the sexiest actresses of Bollywood judge the dance show.

It was quite a news when we heard Lolo has taken up Nach Baliye. People speculated that Karisma wanted to get back her popularity before she makes a Bollywood comeback. But Lolo says,“I am back, but this is not my comeback. Everyone is doing television, so why not me? I have been a dancer all my life but this is the first time that I will be judging others on their dancing skills. People used to judge me until now but now, I will be judging them,” she says.
Quite a few of Karisma’s contemporaries like Raveena Tandon and Sonali Bendre have taken to television reality shows as judges, perhaps that gave Karisma to give a nod to the offer.“I do not believe in herd mentality. Yes, there are numerous shows mushrooming, but if a reality show had come to me earlier, I wouldn’t have considered it. The timing had to be right,” she explains. And how does she plan to go about judging -I am expecting good performances and great chemistry from the couples. I hope to bring my knowledge of dance to the contestants. I will be encouraging and fair. All three [judges] of us will be honest with the participants when it comes to giving marks. Sounds interesting.

Who is Prettier of the Two?

I Admire Abhishek: Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai who was recently at the inauguration of a Longines store in New Delhi, was more than forthcoming talking about her hubby dearest Abhishek Bachchan. She was her usual chirpy self and could stop gushing about Abhi.Drona might not have got rave reviews but Ash is all praises for Abhi.“I think he’s a wonderful actor. I’ve always admired his approach to his work. You have to admire all the actors (in Drona), I did. Abhishek played Drona realistically. I viewed the film through a child’s eyes. It has to be perceived as a fantasy adventure,” she said.

Ash maintains that Abhi is a mature actor who understands cinema well enough to make good career decisions. He understands cinema so well that he is not afraid of taking risks. He stands by his family, friends all the time and because of this I identify a lot with him,” she gushed.“I know him for a very long time now. Together we have grown from actors to colleagues to friends and now we share a very special bond. It is definitely a nice feeling,” she added.

Okay Ash… We know you are madly in love with him… but stop being so ‘politically correct’ always…

Salman Khan Plays Desi Robin Hood

Salman Khan Plays Desi Robin Hood

Salman Khan as Veer is hoping he could give competition to Akbar, Asoka and Mangal Pandey. What more… he is going to be his macho best for the much hyped flick. It is reported that Salman’s role will be that of a merciless thug in the period 1820 to 1930s, during the British Raj.A news daily even quoted a source as saying, “Salman plays the title role of Veer in the film. He’s a Robin Hood of sorts, who robs the British officers and helps the poor. Salman has watched Mel Gibson’s The Patriot and was quite impressed with the gun battle scenes. He wants to do the same with Veer.”

I could’nt stop imagining about his first attempt to do a historical film - remember Suryavanshi?

Censor Chops Condom Dialogue for Hello

When the entire world is going mad preaching safe sex and usage of condoms, looks like our Indian censor board is still caught up in the pre-historic times. Apparently, the censor board found the usage of word ‘condom’ offensive in the movie Hello.

There is a lovemaking scene in Hello between Gul Panag and Sharman Joshi. The two are well educated call centre executives. Before they get intimate in the scene, Gul asks Joshi to use a condom.

It is said that the dialogue did not go down well with the jury of the censor board, so they ordered that the dialogue be deleted. Ironically, they have retained the lovemaking scene and deleted the dialogue.

Grow up Censor folks…
