Aamir Khan to play Kishore Kumar on-screen

Aamir Khan has been offered the role of legendry singer-actor Kishore Kumar in the biopic that is being made on him by Percept Pictures. Confirming the news, Aamir said, “I have been approached by Percept Pictures for the film on Kishore Kumar. They have asked me to play the role of Kishore Kumar. But I am yet to complete reading the full script. If the script appears fresh and interesting I don’t see any reason why I shall not do the film. I have been a great fan of Kishore Kumar. I have loved him both as a singer and an actor.” At present, Aamir Khan is busy with the marketing plans of ‘Ghajini’ which is expected to release on 25th December. “The first set of promos of Ghajini shall be out everywhere soon. I am going to get involved with the promotions of the film soon now. I am also in the process of preparing a proper marketing strategy for the Oscars 2009.” the talented actor-director says. Reportedly, Nagesh Kukunoor too is out to make a biopic of Kishore Kumar, tentatively titled, Bemisaal.

Kareena Kapoor goes ‘Meeoow’ for ‘Golmaal Returns’

Kareena Kapoor is a die-hard fan of the American singer Beyonce and inspired by her , she slips into a catsuit for her item number ‘Meow’ in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal Returns’.“I love Beyonce and the way she is. I have tried a different hairstyle and make-up, too. It’s a funky track and the video looks very glamourous,” said Kareena. Even choreographer Bosco cant stop praising Kareena and feels that she has done it even better than Beyonce. “Bebo looks hotter than Beyonce,” said Bosco. Not to mention, boyfriend Saif Ali Khan went gaga over the song. The Chhote Nawab landed on the sets unannounced to see Kareena perform the song. “He liked it so much that he wished he was part of the number too,” said a friend of the actress. We are waiting with baited breath to see Kareena in her catty avatar!!

Boxing match between Akshay Kumar & Vijendra Singh

This was a unique boxing match between two superstars- Akshay Kumar and Vijendra Singh, who matched fists to entertain the kids at NGO Make-a-wish foundation on October the 17th. The match referee was the witty Sajid Khan. The duo met kids from NGO Make-a-wish foundation and distributed gifts which they had wished for. That indeed reveals the soft heart of the two tough hunks.

Minissha Lamba - From bikini to saree!!

The cute-turned-hot Minissha Lamba is all bent on making her presence felt. She has taken one step at a time and sure perfect and well-planned ones. First it was her sweet girl-next-door act in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ opposite Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, next was an immediate image change to the white bikini clad chic girl in ‘Kidnap’ opposite much talked about Imran Khan, continuing with her bikini act was her appearance in the October issue of ‘Maxim’ and now she again appears in a diiferent look on the cover of the October issue of fashion & style magazine ‘Seventeen’ clad in a pink saree with golden yellow polka dots.

The issue has Minissha talking about her experience of romancing some of the hottest guys in Bollywood, shares some of her high-school days’ memories and even gives some invaluable advice to all girls of her age. Way to go girl!!

Karzzz Movie Review

I have to admit, I watched this movie out of sheer curiosity. For that real experience, I really wanted to see this movie in a local small cinema hall, but I couldn’t get tickets and eventually had to watch it in a multiplex. So if you want to watch this movie, watch it as I did and you will be really surprised -
ONE - Go to the cinema hall without any expectations. Take it for granted that this Karzzz will be nowhere close to the original one. TWO - Go there just to see Himesh keeping up with his stardom and how he carries an entire film on his shoulder.
I found this movie quite ‘amusing’. The director had his target audience in mind and it is supposed to be really an audio-visual treat for those who really like Himesh’s brand of music and who made Aap Ka Surroor a super hit at the box office. Be clear that it is not for you if you love to hate Himesh.

Urmila Matondkar takes over Simi Garewal’s role as the villainous wife Kaamini who kills her multi-billionaire husband Ravi Verma (Dino Morea) in a plain crash and Ravi Verma ne pichle janam mein kuch paap kiye thay shayad jo agle janam mein he was born as Himesh oops Monty. Monty is a rockstar, he has young girls drooling and falling all over him and thousands of people flocking to watch him live in action. And one such fan is Tina (Shweta Kumar) who falls in love with Rockstar Monty.

The movie begins with a song and after Monty’s entry, in every 10-15 minutes the film breaks into a song where Himesh is given all the chance to play a rockstar (at such a time I so wished I had a remote control). Once the first half, peppered with songs and Monty’s memory flashes of the pichla janam is over that we get to see something interesting. The climax makes more sense than the rest of the movie.

Now coming to performances, there is this very annoying sincerity that Himesh acts with. Although, he is a bit difficult to digest as a hero for us, but he makes a very sincere effort to essay the role of Monty with as much elan as possible. He needs to improve a great deal with his dialogue delivery. But the guy has screen presence and a certain and perhaps that is what has earned him a lot of fans in a certain segment of the society.
Urmila, did a fair job, nothing commendable. She looked hot for sure but I really couldnt take her anglicised hindi accent. Shweta Kumar, doesnt have much to do and she looked too young to play Himesh’s love interest, she even doesnt know how to act so I doubt her future prospects in the industry.
Danny Dengzonpa, the only ‘actor’ in the movie, amuses with his Pran act as Chacha Kabeer mouthing dialogues from old Hindi films. Feels sad to see an actor like Gulshan Grover is wasted with the mute character of St.Judas who uses the same glove gadget to communicate for even after 25 years.
Overall, its very amusing if you go there out of curiosity like I did, just to see how Himesh has acted.
