Salman takes Katrina for a ‘MacDonald’ date

Though our film stars are fitness freaks and especially our Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, they have their own shares of binging at casual dates once in a while. So, it was that after a recent trip to Salman’s Panvel farmhouse, the couple were returning to Mumbai when they felt the need to stop for some fast food as they both were hungry. They stopped at Mac Donald’s for a burger date. The moment their fans saw the land cruiser waiting outside MacDonald’s they rushed to them for photographs and autographs.

The couple were ate their sporting best and willingly entertained their fans and their quick stop at the fast food joint resulted in a long wait.

Ajay Devgan keeps Chandigarh police waiting endlessly

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan seemed to have hidden behind a smokescreen Thursday. The Chandigarh police, despite repeated attempts, were unable to serve a penalty notice on the actor for allegedly breaching the no-smoking law in the city Monday.
He was reportedly spotted smoking at Chandigarh airport in the smoke-free city.
When the police officials went again to serve the prosecution notice at Taj hotel at 10.30 a.m. Thursday, they were made to wait for over an hour and then told that the actor had left for shooting.
On Wednesday night too, Devgan had kept Chandigarh police officials waiting for over two hours in the lobby of the Taj hotel. The police officials were made to wait for the star to cough up the Rs.200 fine imposed on him.
The actor did not appear before the police officials, and his manager told them to come Thursday at 10.30 a.m.
S.K. Jain, Inspector General of Chandigarh police, said, "We are not taking this issue lightly because of the high profile status of the accused. He has to pay the fine for his offence."
The fine was imposed after an NGO filed a complaint Tuesday accusing Ajay Devgan of allegedly smoking at a smoke-free public place.
Meanwhile, the same NGO Thursday filed a written complaint with Chandigarh police accusing Devgan of evading the process of law and not cooperating.
"There is a clear intent to obstruct a public servant from discharging his duty. Such an action of hindering the work of a police officer clearly amounts to an offence under Section 186 of the Indian Penal Code and in the interest of justice and law," pointed out Hemant Goswami, chairperson of Burning Brain society.
Chandigarh became the first smoke-free city of India July 15, 2007. Smoking here is banned at all public places.
Ajay Devgan was also fined Wednesday at Kurali in Mohali, around 35 km from here, for allegedly smoking at a railway station there.

Shilpa Shetty launches Sona’s ‘Unique’ showroom

Shilpa Shetty launched actress Sona’s first business venture, the showroom Unique, on Friday 9th at a function at the Taj Connemera in Chennai. Shilpa had come down to Chennai after a long time and said that she did it because of her personal acquaintance with Sona.

The Unique showroom is located opposite the SIET college and will showcase handpicked accessories from around the world. Speaking about the showroom, she said that it would be a one of its kind shopping place for all lifestyle requirements. She said that there would not be more than one or two of a given design or piece of any item in the showroom which would ensure that the buyer would get to retain the uniqueness of what has been bought.

Shilpa Shetty also added that she has been invited by Prabhu Deva to act in Tamil again and that she was interested to do more movies down south opposite top stars.

Says Sona, “Shilpa was amazed at the product list we showed her. International brands not available in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, will be available in my store. We will showcase only handpicked accessories from around the world and no two products will be the same.

What’s more…. some really big labels are going to be seen in the store. All products would be targeted mainly at the film, fashion and hi-end clientele who want to be exclusive and don’t mind paying for it. As the brand develops we will also be manufacturing our own range soon.”
