I AM: Sikandar Kher

Honestly, I don’t know what spirituality means. I think it means different things to different people. I can’t call myself religious or spiritual in any traditional sense of the word but I do believe in God. I know there is some Supreme Power up there but I don't understand what face can God have. Some find God in idols, others in scriptures; I feel Him everywhere. For me, being religious is doing good karma , being nice to people and leave a trail of happiness wherever I may go. I am God-fearing but I am not ‘religious’ or ritualistic. I don’t follow any set pattern. I am too impatient to sit back and meditate. I think it needs a lot of concentration and I am not cut out for that. But I do visit places of worship —I may choose to go to a temple or a mosque or a church, even a pagoda for that matter, if I feel the urge to interact with that divine power. I think I have got it all from my parents and the fact that I am born to a multi-cultural set of parents. My dad was born in Kashmir and my mom is a Punjabi , so there has never been a thing in the family about which faith to follow and how to practise religion. My parents have been very liberal in their beliefs and I have got the same from them. I find it very selfish when during tough times people look for a resort in God and religion. But being a human being, i am no different. In times of adversity, I simply talk to God and pray for peace. But yes, I am happy to say that even during happier times, or in any normal day of my life, I do thank God for all that He has given me. My philosophy in life is to be good to everyone, although this is a very tough proposition in today’s world. But it’s the only way to attain happiness. If I have to put my mind at peace, I prefer being amongst my friends and family. Or I would go for a movie or some other activity that needs involvement – may be some kind of sport. I have never experienced any miracle or any such incident where I have been face to face with God. I feel God is everywhere and He is around every day. Right now, I am very happy and content with the direction my life is taking. I thank God for that.

Bollywood Actor Sikander kher or Sikandar kher

My favirate actor in bollywood .

It's difficult to not keep writing about some Bollywood personalities. The true stars - the ones who give enough material to keep the grapevine buzzing and behave like stars. Sikander is one of them.

Sikander’s Mother talks about Sikander, about his growing years and his launch. She also spoke about Sikander's father, Gautam Berry -- Kirron's first husband -- and Sikander's relationship with Anupam Kher. i am thanks to Anupam Kher for given him a support for sikander in his childhood.

Sikander has always wanted to become an actor. He claims his parents haven't really taught him much about acting but he did take part in a six month long acting workshop with Anupam Kher.

What we can write on diary

Every time I write a diary, I don't know what to write. To me, every day is the same. I just do the routine study. Get up early in the morning, eat my breakfast, go to school, go home after class, eat my dinner, and go to sleep after I finish my homework. Then the next day I will do the same. But now I learn to look at things from another angle. I start to observe what happens around me every day; even it is a little incident. When I help a little girl cross the street, or I see something interesting, I will keep it in mind and Write it down. If I use my eyes and head more, I will know what to write in a diary.

2nd Oct2008

Today Shirley and I went to visit Fujian Museum. As it's about 3 kilometres from my home, we decided to go there by bike. We set off at 8 o'clock. At the museum we saw many photos and other things. We learned a lot. We saw a lot of children with their parents, students with their teachers and soldiers. At ten o'clock we left the museum for home. We had a wonderful time today.

(1)My Hobby
My hobby is playing basketball. I love basketball. I think basketball is my friend. Since the fifth year of my primary school, I have been very interested in it. I often play basketball with my friends and classmates.playing basketball helps me get good friends and get courage. I play basketball very well. I often play basketball with my friends have a gramble: who tails, who buys drinks for the others.
Actually playing basketball is very happy and is a very healthy sports. I love basketball.

(2)Sky is very blue. I like blue very much. In the morning, our teacher taught us some animals’ English names. It too hard for me! I felt unhappy. In the afternoon, when I see the sky, I saw a plane. It’s too far away.
I miss my parents very much! I wanted to hear my mother lpeak. I felt tired this time. Suddenly, I remember my mother said: ”If you think you can, you can.” Yes,hard-working is the key to success. I’ll waork hard tomorrow.

(3)Today is fine. In the morning our foreign teacher Brodie Williamson cam again. I like him very, because he is interesting. Our class was filled with laughter in his class.
Today, he taught us what is Love. First, everyone are shy because we thik love is a boy and a girl like each other. But it is not right. Lvoe include friendship, love between parents and children. We only know friendship is important. If we don’t have friends, we won’t getanything. Parents’ love is warm. When we need help, they will hilp me and love is sweet. It is like honey, they will help and believe in each other.
I think there is love everywhere.

(4)My mother is a good woman. She is very good for me. Everyday she gives me a good breakfast. Then we go to my school, when I go to my class, she goes to work.
I love my mother!
Every night, she and I go to my room. She says: “Good night! Jenny.” “Good night!” I say. Then she goes to her room.
I love my mother!
During her work time, she does not rest. But she still picks me up at school everyday. When we get home, she gives me some milk and some beak. Then I go to my bed.
I love my mother very much!

(5)I didn’t finish my work today. I didn’t write the English dairy. My mother was
very angry because she has keen me to get ahead in the career. I know that she is good
for me, but I don’t know how to say now. May be I lacks confidence in myself. Now I am
writing my English now. From now on I will force myself to practice English and do
exercise. I hope I can be turn better tomorrow.
Today I knew a new word: practices makes perfect.

(6)Yesterday was my birthday, so some of my classmates sent me presents. Mother prepared a tea party for me. I invited all of them to come and take part in it.

The tea party began at half past six. There were cold drinks and refreshments. We ate, talked and laughed. We felt that we were the happiest men in the world.
Time passed quickly. In a twinkling, the clock on the wall struck nine. We could not but say “Good-bye” to one another.

(7)July 14th Wednesday rainy

how to make chinese moon cake

Lets see how to make mooncake at home.

Makes 2 dozen

1 can (17-1/2 ounces) lotus seed paste
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts

4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2-cup non-fat dried milk powder
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 cup sugar 1/2 cup solid shortening, melted and cooled
1 egg yolk , lightly beaten

1. Mix lotus seed paste and walnuts together in a bowl; set aside.

2. Sift flour, milk powder, baking powder, and salt together into a bowl. In large bowl of electric mixer, beat eggs on medium speed until light and lemon colored. Add sugar; beat for 10 minutes or until mixture falls in a thick ribbon. Add melted shortening; mix lightly. With a spatula, fold in flour mixture. Turn dough out on a lightly floured board; knead for 1 minute or until smooth and satiny. Divide dough in half; roll each half into a log. Cut each log into 12 equal pieces.

3. To shape each moon cake, roll a piece of dough into a ball. Roll out on a lightly floured board to make a 4-inch circle about 1/8-inch thick. Place 1 tablespoon of lotus seed paste mixture in center of dough circle. Fold in sides of dough to completely enclose filling; press edges to seal. Lightly flour inside of moon cake press with 2-1/2 inch diameter cups. Place moon cake, seam side up, in mold; flatten dough to conform to shape of mold. Bang one end of mold lightly on work surface to dislodge moon cake. Place cake on ungreased baking sheet. Repeat to shape remaining cakes. Brush tops with egg yolk.

4. Bake in a preheated 375 degree F. oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a rack and let cool.
