What stars pledge for 2009

ShahidKapoor.jpg

Post 26/11 Bollywood has woken up and want to do something for their country. Read below what famous Bollywood stars pledge for the year 2009.

Salman Khan: ‘I pledge to give back the love I have got from people… ‘

I want to keep myself abreast of current happenings more than before. I also wish to give back the love I have got from people and make a conscious effort to make everyone happy and touch their lives.

Shahid Kapoor: ‘I pledge to change the system’

I have never voted in my life. I have woken up to this fact that we need to participate in the process to change the system. It’s the need of the hour. Post 26/11, I have realised that.

Kangana Ranaut : ‘I pledge to execute my responsibilities and duties as a citizen’

I will start being aware about my nation, its politics and other current issues that will enable me to understand my responsibilities and duties as a citizen. And, I will have an opinion and power to voice whatever I feel and stand for.

Shilpa Shetty : ‘I pledge to vote’

I will vote from now on every year, no matter how busy I am. I will take time out. I haven’t done this in the past, but now I understand the importance of an efficient government after the recent attacks. And, if we want to change, it’s in our hands literally.

Harman Baweja : ‘I pledge to vote for the right individual’

I have not been voting all this while, but this year I will definitely vote. I’ll support and vote for an individual who will selflessly work towards a better future for India.

Sonam Kapoor : ‘I pledge to be more conscientious’

I would like to be a more aware and conscientious citizen of my country from now on.

Amrita Rao : ‘I pledge to fight back anything that dares challenge me’

To fight back anything that dares to challenge me. To bring about a balance of strength and sensitivity in me. As a Mumbaiite, not to forget 26/11 and to voice my opinion through the media whenever I see any aspect of the city going wrong.

Irrfan Khan : ‘I pledge to try and quit smoking’

The one thing that I want to do is try to quit smoking for sure.

Celina Jaitley : ‘I pledge to work on my shortcomings’

To work on myself, specially my shortcomings, and do three crazy things this year which I have never done in my life.

Shriya Saran : ‘I pledge to make someone happy every day’

I want to make someone happy every day. This is that basic deed which we are increasingly forgetting. Greeting each other with a smile, a hello, namaste and a salaam, trust me, will change the day for you and the person. I want to show I care.

Harman Plays With Real Cricketers in Victory

harmanbaweja-2008-2b-1_1213793776.jpg

Harman Baweja is all geared up for his next film Victory where he plays a small town boy who works hard to fulfill his dream of playing for the Indian cricket team.

“It’s almost a realistic film, almost like an autobiography on a cricket,” he said at the inauguration party of 9th Fame Cinema theatres in Mumbai on Friday.

Apart from Amrita Rao and Anupam Kher we’ll get to see real cricketers like Brett Lee, Shoaib Mallik, Sanath Jaisurya, Mike Hussey, Dinesh Kartik and Harbhajan Singh playing themselves for the first time on the silver screen.

“Bhajji is someone I hit it off with. We both are Punjabi boys so we took off on the full sarson da saag makke di roti conversation. But over all cricketers, like all of us are completely normal guys. So the only thing that I admire is that somewhere they play for their country and I think it’s commendable,” he said.

All the best for Victory Harman, I wish in this film you look more like yourself rather than a distorted clone of Hrithik Roshan.

Priyanka Chopra: A girlfriend in need?

Though Harman Baweja’s luck did not seem to be on his side with his filmi career, but he is lucky indeed to have a girlfriend like Priyanka Chopra. No one can deny that she worked hard to make his debut venture ‘Love Story 2050’ turn out to be a major success. Now, that’s a different a different story that the film bombed at the box-office.Harman’s next venture is ‘Victory’ with Adlabs, but the makers of the film are finding it difficult to get buyers owing to the recession in the market and also due to the fact that Harman had a unsuccessful debut. So, the distributors who had earlier shown interest have now backed out and agree to come back in on the deal if they are offered heavy cuts in the price. So, Harman requested Priyanka to do the number and as a true girlfriend she agreed. So, now we have Piggy Chops set to do a sizzling item number in ‘Victory’. And hold your breath, the reports are that she would be wearing nothing but a two piece. She’ll be shooting for it early in the New Year. And Priyanka’s not finished in her efforts to launch Harman in his career yet. She will be appearing alongside him in ‘What’sYour Rashi?’ in which she plays twelve different roles. It’s based on the novel Kimball Ravenswood and Priyanka says, ““It is a romantic comedy and my character is something nobody’s ever played in Indian cinema, no female actress for sure. I hope the film turns out interesting too. This film will also give a lift to my career.”

priyanga-chopra4 (1).jpg

While Harman is in desperate need for a hit after a flop debut, girlfriend Priyanka Chopra is basking in the success of Fashion and Dostana. So the newbie has asked girlfriend Priyanka to help him out with his next flick Victory by doing a sizzling item dance for his flick.Apparently due to recession and Harman’s debut disaster many buyers are shying away from buying the film and are demanding heavy cuts in price.A source reveals, “Now one of the producers of the film, Manmohan Shetty, has urged the debutant director of the film, Ajit Pal, to put an item number in the film. This may just improve the prospects of the film on the ticket windows. Harman has requested girl friend Priyanka to do the number and she has agreed.”Well I wonder if her presence will make it better? Remember Priyanka had a full-fledged role in LoveStory and still it flopped.
