I feel responsible for Anushka: Shahrukh Khan

Anushka Sharma made a dream debut opposite King Khan and has managed to impressed him as her co-star. Shahrukh Khan is mighty impressed with this young girl and this is what he had to say about her -“Anushka in a certain way has helped me a lot with this film. I had to react to this girl who’s so fresh and different. So as an actor, I would say she has kept me on my toes and I think she has done a wonderful job.I feel responsible for her career because she is starting off with me. I hope she does a fantastic job. She kept me on my toes, not just by virtue of being fresh and new, by being taller than me also.I truly from the bottom of my heart pray for her and I hope this film does really good for her and she does some amazing amount of work, so we can feel proud that we started her career on celluloid,” said Shahrukh.Perhaps that’s what makes SRK love his younger co-stars more!

When Nobody Recognized Shahrukh Khan

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is rocking at the box office and Shahrukh Khan’s simple middle class avatar is getting all the rave reviews. And getting into the character of Surinder Sahni was the most memorable time SRK had while shooting for RNBDJ“The first character is Surinder Sahni and we wanted him to look like a middle class guy, having a fixed routine - perhaps to the extent of being boring. We also wanted to give him a little bit of amusing quality without making him a caricature and to get all that, I think a physical appearance was important. Especially, for the movement of the story, the look was very important. One day, I put a moustache and got some hairpiece done and showed it to Adi and he said, ‘This is the guy he should look like.’ It’s not how weird or funny I look, but the simplicity of the character will permeate through the screen.I think the most memorable part was the first seven-eight days when I changed my look for Surinder Sahni. When I used to walk on the sets, nobody would recognise me.I got a taste of things that will come 30 years later in my life when I will no longer be a star and nobody will recognise me. I think that is the most memorable moment but I hope it never happens to me ever again because not to be recognised after 20 years of such high recognition is something I wasn’t ready for.”

Shahrukh says he identifies more with Surinder than with Raj and Rahul that he has been playing over the last 15 years.“I am basically very ordinary in the way I think, in the way I do things. I come from an educated lower middle class background and I have never lost touch with that. Suri is what I really am. And my challenge as an actor is genuinely to make Surinder Sahni the new romantic icon.I want everybody not to love Raj anymore and say ‘We want to be Suri’. The romantic iconic status crown now shifts from Raj and Rahul to Surinder Sahni because he’s got a good heart.”

Rab Ne Banadi Jodi super hit

Rab Ne has finally bana di Yash Raj ki kismat, as their latest flick Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has broken weekend collection records of Yash Raj’s previous flick.

RNBDJ approximately raked in a whooping 60 crore worldwide in its opening week, surpassing the record set by Dhoom 2.

RNBDJ also broke all records in Middle East by raking 47 crores in first week.

Well this is just the beginning more money will be grossed by YRF only until Ghajini is released.

Mixed responses for ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’

Post the lull in the market and the tragedy of 26/11, theatre and multiplex owners had a reason to smile on Friday with the release of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film ‘Rab Ne Bana di Jodi’. However, the opening was not as great as it is normally for a yash Raj and SRK combinations. The viewers which comprised mainly of youngsters and college students had a mixed response to offer.

‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ starring Shah Rukh and newcomer Anoushka Sharma, is an all-in-all trademark Yash Raj love story offering SRK in two different shades- one an average-ooking middle-class man Surinder Sahni who loves his wife Taani and as the typically ‘filmi’ Raj whom his wife loves.

“The all-India opening is expected to be 60-70 per cent. Considering that this is a Yash Raj film, a hundred percent opening is expected but that has not happened,” said Kumar Mohan, Editor of trade magazine ‘Complete Cinema’.

“Audiences who saw the film today have liked it and reports are good. We are confident that the movie will pick up during the week,” a Cinemax spokesperson said adding the film got an opening of 55-60 per cent.
