Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone - The next on-screen pair?

The first thing that strikes our mind when we see Deepika Padukone and Farhan Akstar together is their noticeable difference in their heights. Deepika is known for her towering height. Even on his chat show, ‘Oye! Its Friday’, Farhan jokingly measured his height by bringing a measuring tape on the show, making her stand upright and hold the tape from the top as he places the other end on her feet.

But never mind this difference coz the duo are set to pair together in Excel Entertainment’s next, ‘Kartik Calling Kartik’. The film will be directed by debutant Vijay Lalwani. The film will be shot on a start-to-finish schedule from April to June at various locales of India.

It seems that the film’s story had Farhan so excited that he decided to push his plans of directing aside for a while and decided that he wanted to produced and act in the movie. Farhan feels the title itself will generate curiosity and is excited to essay the title role. As for Deepika she has always been very fond of Farhan especially after ‘Rock On’ and desired to work with him. So, when this offer came along, it was a dream come true.

However, co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani maintains, “We are in talks with Deepika but nothing has been finalised.”

Javed Akhtar does 'bhangra' on son Farhan's show

Writer-poet Javed Akhtar, who usually shies away from breaking into dance and song, will now be seen doing the bhangra on the small screen to celebrate son Farhan's birthday Friday.Javed paid a surprise visit on Farhan's show "Oye! It's Friday!" and spoke about his son's growing days. He even shared some secrets about Farhan before the father-son duo broke into a 'bhangra' jig.
The special episode, to be aired on NDTV Imagine Friday, will also have actress Deepika Padukone as a guest.

Hmmm… you must be waiting eagerly for another one from Farhan Akhtar after his superb and megahit ‘Rock On’. So, tis good news for all you fans of this multi-talented director-turned actor and rock star. Farhan is set to make you laugh in the black and subversive comedy ‘Luck By Chance’.

This film will also be the directorial debut of Farhan’s sister Zoya Akhtar who has also penned down the script along with Farhan himself.

Farhan plays the lead assisted by a galaxy of talented and veteran stars like Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Juhi Chawla, and Saurabh Shukla. Konkona Sen Sharma plays the leading lady opposite Farhan. The film portrays the behind-the-scenes story of not only actors but also spot boys. Farhan plays the role of an aspiring actor who comes to Mumbai to be a hero.

Also a lot of actors have made special appearances in the film, the first name which can be mentioned here is Hrithik Roshan who plays a superstar named Zaffar Khan. Oye! It’s Friday’ with Farhan Akhtar

With ‘Rock On’ we saw many facets of the multi-talented director Farhan Akhtar. After making his presence felt as the actor, producer, performer and director, Farhan is to unveil yet another brand new ‘avatar’ of himself- this time as a talk show host. Farhan’s show ‘Oye! It’s Friday’ is all set to premiere next Friday (Dec 12) on NDTV Imagine.

The show will have Farhan indulge in informal talks with some of the Bollywood’s biggest celebrities. In addition, there will be some great live performances too.

The first guest for Farhan’s show will be none other than Hrithik Roshan who has been his close friend for many years now. Hrithik even starred in Farhan’s second directorial venture Lakshya. With Farhan, Hrithik speaks about how he met his wife Suzanne, his recent holiday to the islands of Bora Bora, his experience of meeting with Michael Jackson and much more.

While hosting the show, Farhan in his usual playful mood, asked Hrithik about his closeness to his Jodhaa Akbar co-star. Hrithik turned red with embarrassment but Farhan continued teasing him. Finally when he saw that his buddy was a little uncomfortable in his seat, he laughed and said, “I was talking about your co-star the elephant with whom you spent so much time together.”

As a topping to the dessert, the first episode also has the super sexy Neha Dhupia who burns the dance floor with her performance. If that was not enough, you also have Hard Kaur singing ‘Move Your Body’ and ‘Tulli’.
