Tusshar Kapoor sports a moustache to play NRI Gujarati

Tusshar Kapoor is one actor who has been in the industry for long, but success is still an illusion for him. His mute character in ‘Golmaal’ and its sequel ‘Golmaal Returns’ has been quite a rgae and now, the actor has gone for a complete makeover for his role as a Gujarati in ‘Life Partner’. In the film he plays a married man and is cast opposite Prachi Desai.

Says the actor, “I am playing a married man for the first time. My character of a Gujarati NRI requires me to sport a moustache!!!”

“Ive been paired opposite Prachi Desai who too is a Gujarati and she was a huge help in terms of learning the acts and behaviour required for my character. She also helped me a lot in speaking the language with the proper accent et al.”

The film is Abbas Mustan’s first production directed by Rumi Jaffery.

Dabboo Ratnani 2009 calendar launch

The launch of Dabboo Ratnani’s 2009 calendar was a glamorous as the calendar itself with the leading faces of Bollywood gracing the occasion. The occasion seemed complete in itself as it saw Vidya Balan looking graceful as ever in a white embroidered salwar suit. Kangana Ranaut seemed to be coming from a corporate meeting when she was spotted in a black formal business suit at the Launch. Handsome men, Shahid Kapoor and Dino Morea with girlfriend Lara Dutta were also spotted at the occasion. All three came together at the function. Also present were cute Amrita Rao, sultry Sophie Chaudhary, Ayesha Takia with fiance Farhan Azmi, sexy Riya Sen, Raveena Tandon and so on and so forth.

Ayesha Takia’s Wedding Postponed

Ayesha Takia was supposed to wed restaurateur Farhan Azmi on Christmas Eve but her wedding has now been postponed to mid-2009. All this thanks to the terror attacks in Mumbai.The groom, Farhan confirmed the news saying,”Ayesha is currently in Greece shooting a song for Boney Kapoor’s Wanted. The groom-to-be confirms, “When Ayesha heard the news of the attacks, she broke down. Dad (SP party leader Abu Azmi), was in a hospital recuperating from an operation; he too started crying when he heard about the terrorist attacks. None of us are in the mood for any celebrations this year. Our mood is too grim and somber. There can be no wedding celebrations as of now maybe mid-2009 and that too it will be a small and private affair.”Farhan adds, “We are all shaken up by what happened. I saw it happening next door, as Nariman House is seven buildings away from our home and very close to the Taj and Oberoi hotels. When the Oberoi was sealed, many guests came from there to Koyla and Café Basilico (both owned by Farhan). None wanted to stay, so I took them home. On the first night from Koyla, which is 500m away from the Taj, we could see the fire burning on the sixth floor and hear women and children screaming to be let out ‘please help us’… It still gives me goose bumps to even think about it.”Ayesha had informed all her producers and directors that she will quit acting after she gets married and she intended to wrap all her committments before December.
