Farhan Akhtar to celebrate his birthday on his chat show

There couldn’t have been a better way to celebrate his birthday for Farhan Akhtar than to have the celebration at his own chat show ‘Oye! Its Friday’ and that too with the leggy beauty Deepika Padukone along with a sizzlingly hot performance by none other than item girl Sherlyn Chopra. An icing to the cake took place when Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar dropped in and started to reveal some facts about the star.

So, NTDV Imagine’s much popular show, ‘Oye! It’s Friday’ celebrates Farhan Akhtar’s birthday on January 9th. It will be a party time for the host Farhan Akhtar, who celebrates his birthday with the special guests – the very gorgeous dimpled actress Deepika Padukone, the hot item girl Sherlyn Chopra and Mattias Lindstrom. All will be there to wish him on the show. The episode will be filled with tons of surprises and gifts.

You wouldn’t have expected dosti between these two beauties, however their yaraana tells otherwise as the two beauties Deepika and Sonam have buried the hatchet and now are best of buddies.

A source close to Deepika says, “Deepika is down-to-earth and friendly by nature. This so-called wall between the two was eating into her. So she decided to initiate a friendship by giving Sonam a gift during Diwali. Sonam was pleasantly surprised at Deepika’s sweet gesture and thanked her profusely. That broke the supposed cold vibes between the two. With the guard let down from both the sides, the actresses spoke their heart out to each other and put aside their differences. At the end of their conversation, they both realised that there was no animosity from both the ends and decided to be friends. Since then Deepika and Sonam have remained good friends. Besides meeting regularly, the actresses enjoy their girlie talk over calls and smses and even hang out. Recently they even went to watch Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, albeit in a group which also had Ranbir.”

“Things have changed today. If Ranbir and Sonam share a cordial relationship today it is thanks to Deepika.”

Aishwarya refuses L’oreal Sonam approves

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan didn’t win the Miss World title just for the heck of it, she is smart and intelligent and that’s the reason she refused to endorse L’oreals latest skin lightening cream. When Ash refused, L’oreal appointed Sonam Kapoor as their new brand ambassador.A source says, “It was the fairness cream that bothered Aishwarya. She said that she didn’t want to promote a fairness cream especially in India where one’s skin color is such a big issue.She will never promote a product that discriminates on the basis of one’s skin color. Ours is a society where biases are so prevalent that she will do all she can to curb it.”“When Aishwarya refused to relent, the cosmetic company was forced to get Sonam into the picture. They need an Indian face for the promotion and Sonam was the next ideal choice,”The source adds, “Such stories seldom bother her. Aishwarya is primarily guided by her sense of ethics as far as advertising is concerned.She does not endorse products unless she believes in them. She was recently offered a fortune to replace Rani Mukerjee to endorse a popular mosquito repellent cream, but she turned down the offer.”Well hats off to you Ash, for standing by your ethics.

Sonam Kapoor signs her first endorsement deal

Her first film ‘Saawariya’ was a disaster, but she managed to get a huge fan following owing to her freshness and beauty. Talking about Sonam Kapoor, the gal has had no other releases as yet post ‘Saawariya’. She is busy doing Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Delhi 6’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan and has just signed in her first endorsement deal.

Now, the young actress will be the brand ambassador for international cosmetic brand L’Oreal and will launch its new range of products targeted at the young generation. Aishwarya Bachchan has been the brand face of L’Oreal for three years now. However, looking at her age and status, the company has decided to sign in young face Sonam Kapoor for their new product to be launched soon.

Ash will continue to be with the brand but she will represent only women of her ages and Sonam, the younger groups. Sonam was signed for a huge amount commensurate with what the actresses of today like Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are charging. The deal was brought about by celebrity management company, Atul Kasbekar’s Bling. Sonam has already shot for her first L’Oreal ad which will be launched sometime in January next year (2009).

Dilli 6 arrives at Dubai Film Festival
