Kajol does not come easy for Karan Johar

Now, this is definitely an impossible dream for any married actress, but we are talking here about Kajol who can surely make anything possible. Even after marriage, Kajol is in a position to make choices and also command price for her movies. She has reportedly charged 1.5 crores for Kunal Kohli’s ‘Fanaa’ and the film was a huge hit. Thereafter, she appeared in hubby Ajay Devgan’s directorial debut ‘U Me Aur Hum’.

Now, the news doing rounds is that Kajol is charging a whopping Rs 2.5 crore for Karan Johar’s next movie ‘My Name Is Khan’. Karan managed to convince Kajol to do this movie only after much persuasion and readily agreed to pay the price which other top Bollywood actresses are commanding at present. Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif charge about 2 crores or more for their movies.

In ‘My Name Is Khan’ Karan is repeating the sizzling on-screen pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol for the third time. In fact, Kajol is playing a full-fledged role in Karan’s film after a gap of 8 years.

 

 

Kajol looks mesmerizing as the cover-girl of ‘M’

She has taken all efforts to get back on shape and her efforts have paid or so it seems as she poses with her killer looks for the cover page of ‘M’, a lifestyle and luxury magazine for men.

Pranav Capila, executive editor, M, is all praises for Kajol and says, “Why wouldn’t a men’s magazine want Kajol on its cover? She’s certainly been on our wish list for a while.

She’s one of our most talented actors; she’s intelligent and independent thinking and isn’t afraid to show it; she knows her mind and through her life choices has proved that she isn’t a slave to celebrity. She can take it or leave it. And of course, she’s a knockout! We believe that’s exactly the sort of woman our reader wants to see on our cover someone who isn’t just window-dressing to sell the magazine”

Capila adds, “I think Kajol’s feature turned out great. Visually, we wanted to present Kajol as both classic and contemporary and Jatin Kampani’s photos delivered that feel.”

On the other hand, Kajol too is impressed with the outcome and says that she had a great fun reaching out for different looks of both classic and contemporary. She earnestly thanks Jatin Kampani for getting her sported attractively.

Kajol adds, “It was great fun to shoot and to see how far you can go. It’s great working with Jatin Kampani. I think he can make anybody look good, even me.”

The magazine features one big actress a year on their cover who are generally strong, independent, successful ones. While they shot with Tabu last year; for the February 2009 issue they shot with Kajol. They loved her picture so much that they decided to use it and the interview for the January issue instead. Kajol, too, was also very accommodating during the shoot. Though she is known to be difficult, when she was shooting the lights went off but she did not complain.

A peek at Dabbo Ratnani’s 2009 calendar

Riteish Deshmukh looks awesomely striking with his Beatles-inspired sixties’ black and white look. Sajnay Dutt looks deadly behind the wheels of the gleaming red Ferrari.

Says Dabboo about his work, “I have not restricted myself to any dramatic theme for 2009. Some are in black and white, some are in reds while the rest are in vivid colors,” says Dabboo who begins work on his annual ritual in September every year. “Initially, I used to collect snaps of the stars I had shot and put them together for the calendar. But later, I began shooting them exclusively for it.”

Kajol and Shahruk Khan go for a leaner look

Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are in Los Angeles now shooting for their latest project ‘My Name Is Khan’. Now, Kajol plays an NRI woman in the film and her character requires her to look thin. So, Kajol is on a weight losing spree now so that she fits the bill and some super sexy dresses.

She has forgone her binging habit and has started with a special diet. Her instructor is taking care that Kajol includes lots of nuts, especially almonds in her diet. Apart from keeping a tab on the calorie intake, Kajol is sweating it out at the gym too to cut that extra flab.

Moreover, SRK also needs to look lean as he plays an NRI Muslim man here. Hope this superhit jodi of the silver screen with their leaner looks weaves the same magic as it had done in ‘DDLJ’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and so on.
